Both Cork City Council and County Council yesterday released their reports on the floods of Thursday, June 28th 2012.
The County’s 23-page document focuses on Douglas, Glanmire and Clonakilty while the City’s 11-page report looks at Blackpool and Ballyvolane.
Many Northside Cllrs feel that Ballyvolane isin’t getting the attention it deserves Residents of three estates there: Parkcourt, Meelick Park, and Mervue Lawn are still counting the cost of flood damage.
Fine Gael City Cllr Pat Gosh wants an independent report but Council officials insist that an O-P-W report will be trustworthy across in Blackpool Fine Gael Cllr Joe O’Callaghan says he wants wants an “independent report”
meanwhile; Sinn Fein’s Tommy Gould says regardless of who writes a report, it must be done quickly. He spoke with our reporter after Monday nights meeting of Cork City Council
