The famous “Shaky Bridge” in Cork City needs to be re-painted
Officially known as Daly’s bridge it links Sunday’s Well road on the
northside, with Fitzgerald’s Park on the south
The Pedestrian Birdge was opened in the 1920’s but it’s made from wrought
and has a timber walkway meaning that it’s expensive to maintain.
The City Council is short of funds, and the Bridge hasn’t been re-painted
in white recently.
Kieran McCarthy is an Independent City Councillor and an expert on Cork
he is suggesting that some funds from the renovation of Fitzgerald’s park
should be diverted into restoring the bridge to it’s former glory.
