It’s emerged that no one was prosecuted for the offence of dog fouling
in Cork City last year.
Councillors say the messy problem has gotten out of hand in the Cities
, and there are calls for a “sting operation” to catch owners.
Under the Litter Pollution Act 1997 it is an offence to allow a dog under
your control to
foul a public place. Meaning, in practice, that an owner is supposed to
clean up after their animal.
But one one was prosecuted in 2013
