Protestors are expected in University College Cork next week
when President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso arrives to
collect an Honorary Doctorate.
Next Wednesday the man who is “the most powerful officeholder in the EU
will travel to UCC for the second time, having previously spoken in 2008 on
the Lisbon Treaty.
UCC’s President Michael Murphy says in honouring Mr Barosso the
University is recognising the role that the EU has played in the
