Protesters against the installation of Water Metres yesterday
(Wednesday) stopped Irish Water Contractors from entering a housing
estate in Cork.
It’s was day 2 of a blockade of Ashbrook Heights, Lehanaghamore,
Togher where many residents were supporting an anti-austerity group
stopping the digging of footpaths.
The white vans of “Murphy” contractors who are working for Irish water
were parked outside the estate hoping the blockade will end, and
journalists are were camped outside waiting for developments.
TheCork.ie Reporter David O’Sullivan was at the scene, here is his
scene report from 1pm (Wednesday)
