It’s being speculated that English Actor Jeremy Irons might buy more land in West Cork.
An uninhabited 15 acre island next to his restored Kilcoe Castle, outside Balydehob has come onto the market with an guide price of EUR 200,000.
It’s called Mannin Island and and has no jetty or slipway, and no buildings or services.
There is no guarantee that planning permission would be granted for any structure, but it’s being speculated locally that Jeremy Irons might buy the island to maintain the privacy of his castle.
Irons frequently speaks about his love of West Cork. Including when he was made an “Honorary Corkman” earlier this year. TheCork.ie has this archive audio from January 2014.
