Plans for a new events centre in Cork have become very complicated.
Yesterday it was reported that the Beamish and Crawford on South Main
Street site would be the likely location
for Cork’s new permanent events centre.
However a complicated twist in the awarding of 16 million euro of
taxpayers money in a kick start fund has surfaced this morning
That’s because there was a deadline yesterday (Friday) for backers to
submit tenders to City Council applying for a kick start fund of up to
16 million euro,
and only one backer (not 2 as expected) actually submitted a tender.
