“Irish Water have insulted Cork County Council, and its elected members”

That’s the view of the County Mayor.

Irish Water have refused to send representatives to Council meetings where
water and sewerage projects are being discussed.

The 55 elected County Councillors are growing frustrated about the lack of
information about schemes in their areas.

The problem began when Irish Water took over water services from the
Council.

Irish Water’s managing director, John Tierney, says it “would be hugely
problematic” for his organisation to send reps to Council meetings.
