funding application by the Port of Cork. Speaking after the meeting
with Prof Balazs, a former Foreign Affairs minister in Hungary,
Deirdre Clune described the meeting as constructive,

impressed upon Prof Balazs the importance of Cork for regional
development in the South West of Ireland. We need to invest in the
Port of Cork to create jobs and drive investment into the greater Cork

Management at Cork have put together an impressive application for

“We have to get our share when it comes to investment in our
infrastructure and I will be lending whatever support I can to this
ongoing application. One of the issues I brought up with Prof Balazs

that we invest outside of Dublin to ensure balanced economic growth in
Ireland. He has promised to take my representations into account.
