Anti water charges meeting

By Elaine Murphy

Anti Austerity Alliance (AAA) TDs Paul Murphy and Joe Higgins will speak at a public meeting titled “Water, Protest and the Elections:  Building a New Movement for Working Class People” in the Metropole Hotel on tonight at 8pm organised by the AAA.

Paul Murphy was recently arrested for his part in the protest against the visit of Tanaiste and Labour leader Joan Burton to Jobstown, Tallaght, last November. Should charges be taken against him a trial can occur later this year with the Tanaiste as the key witness.
Both Paul Murphy and Joe Higgins are leading figures in the anti water charges movement nationally and in the We Won’t Pay campaign.
