Cork Fertility Centre, one of Ireland’s leading fertility and IVF clinics, is to host a free information seminar on Saturday at the Kingsley Hotel at 10am.
A team of consultant gynaecologists, scientists and fertility nurse specialists will deliver talks on maximising chance of conception and will explain different treatment options and techniques available.
The seminar will begin at 10am with a talk entitled ‘Understanding Your Fertility’, presented by Dr Moya McMenamin, Consultant in Reproductive Medicine. This will be followed by an overview of fertility treatments and options by Dr John Waterstone, Medical Director of Cork Fertility Centre.
Dr Tim Dineen, Head of Laboratory Services, will discuss male fertility factors and Jayne Flanagan, Senior Clinical Embryologist, will explain the latest scientific developments in the laboratory.
Speaking about the free seminar, Dr John Waterstone said: “We understand how intimidating it can be to seek fertility advice. Our hope is that through this informal fertility seminar, men and women will feel more comfortable about taking that important next step. Sometimes difficulties can relate to something as simple as lifestyle, which can be addressed and resolved easily. Other couples may need fertility treatment in order to conceive.”
“Our expert team of fertility specialists will explain treatment options, what the process entails and answer any queries couples might have. Assisted reproductive services are evolving and when the best medical and nursing care is combined with the latest scientific innovation, excellent success rates can be achieved,” Dr Waterstone said.
Within the last year, Cork Fertility Centre opened two new fertility outreach clinics in Limerick and Waterford. The group of clinics are leaders in reproductive medicine in Ireland and are Munster’s only comprehensive fertility service with an established reputation for pioneering new treatments and delivering exceptional care.
Places at the seminar are free but limited, so early registration is advised.
