The annual Marketing Institute of Ireland Cork, Mad Men Marketing Ball 2016 in aid of Enable Ireland Cork Branch, is set to be a glamorously themed 1950s/1960s evening for the marketing and business community of Cork and its environs.
The event, hosted at The Radisson Blu Hotel, Little Island on Saturday April 9th (30 days from today) will be layered with top class entertainment, fabulous food, networking and most of all, marvelous Mad Men style. There will also be ample opportunity to win sensational prizes in aid of the Enable Ireland Cork, the charity that has been providing services for over 50 years in Cork to children and adults with physical disabilities.
The marketing and business community of Cork will enjoy an evening complete with; a complimentary drinks reception sponsored by Barry & Fitzwilliam; and entertainment from Corks newest female duo VELVET, who will recreate all the classic Swing and Jazz hits from the Art Deco, Mad Men era. Revelers will then move to the Mad Men inspired dining room where The Radisson Blu Hotel will put on an impressive meal; while the incredibly popular Motown Big Band ‘The Papa Zitas’ and a popular DJ from Cork’s 96fm will be on hand to keep the guests entertained throughout the night. The MII Ball is also renowned for its goody bags, gifts, couples gifts and prizes and this year certainly won’t disappoint.
Judy Hopkins Vice-Chair of MII Cork and Ball Chairperson told us; “This year’s Mad Men Marketing Ball is going to be an amazing night. We have always had great fun at this sell-out event, and this year we are really upping our game with the Mad Men Theme with a few surprises up our sleeves! The ladies always go to great lengths with the glam, so this year, we are putting it out there to all our male guests to up their game in terms of their attire on the night. Go all out gents – fedoras, skinny ties, saddle shoes – you name it, just remember it’s black tie!
“It’s ‘mad’ that we haven’t used this iconic theme before, considering the series is set in an advertising agency, but we are all looking forward to channeling our inner Don Draper and Peggy Olsen if only for a night! It will be a great event for networking with friends, colleagues and fellow professionals.” she said.
Judy also added that; “In tune with the advertising theme, our title sponsors for the ball are Cork’s 96fm & C103 who sure know a thing or two about an effective marketing campaign! A great fit for the marketing institute and they have been so supportive of all of our MII events this year as radio media sponsor. The Irish Examiner and The Evening Echo, more marketing gurus, are also on board again this year as print sponsors. We look forward to seeing them all mingle in-style with the rest of the Cork community on the night.”
