WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR OLD CHRISTMAS TREE? Cork City Council will accept it for free

It was your pride and joy back in eaely December, but now it’s dried up and needs to go to a better place!
It’s that time of the year again when thoughts turn to taking down the Christmas tree and putting away the decorations until next December.

Cork City Council is once again providing Christmas tree recycling facilities.

Householders can deposit their unwanted trees free of charge at the following sites from Tuesday Jan 2 to Wednesday January 31:

• Civic Amenity Recycling Centre at Kinsale Road

• Ballinlough Park , adjacent to the Gus Healy Swimming Pool

• Clashduv Park in Togher, adjacent to the bring site

• The green area at the junction of Murmount Road and Iona Road, Montenotte

• The green area adjacent to Sam Allen Sports Complex at Knockfree Ave, Gurranabraher

Christmas trees should only be disposed of at these sites. Anyone found dumping trees at other locations is liable to a fine.
