A new art dental clinic, which has opened in City Gate, Mahon, Cork hopes to create up to 16 high-end sustainable jobs over the coming years.
Citygate Specialist Dental Clinic, which is the brainchild of, and owned by, two Cork dentists, Dr Seamus Sharkey and Dr Jennifer Kearney, is now open for business and offers patients a world-class all-in-one dental service.
Both partners, who have worked in dental practices in the UK, Australia and Ireland and have completed their accredited specialist training programs in Dublin, now bring their expertise back to City Gate, Cork, which is Munster’s largest medical development.
Also on site at City Gate is the Cork Medical Centre, the first privately built hospital in Cork for over 90 years, along with the largest VHI Swiftcare Clinic in Ireland and the VHI Screening Centre, which is the only one of its kind outside of Dublin.
“At Citygate Specialist Dental Clinic we aim to provide a referral dental centre where patients are offered all forms of complex dental treatment in one facility,” co-owner Dr Seamus Sharkey said.
“Initially, the services we provide include prosthodontics (replacing missing/broken teeth), periodontics (gum treatments and bone regeneration), dental implants, orthodontics for both children and adults, endodontics (root canal treatments), and oral surgery (difficult extractions and removal of wisdom teeth ).
“These will be followed shortly by paediatric dentistry”.
Citygate Specialist Dental Clinic is the latest health-care facility to set up in City Gate.
City Gate, which was developed by John Cleary Developments (JCD), is quickly becoming the central medical hub for the Munster region.
John Cleary of JCD welcomes the addition of the Dental clinic to City Gate.
“It is complimentary to the existing medical facilities at the Park and we are currently in negotiations with other specialist medical companies with a view to locating here,” John Cleary said.
Drs Kearney and Sharkey also agreed that “City Gate’s accessibility and proximity to Cork Medical Centre were a central part of why we wanted to set up there.
“We aim to offer the highest standard of treatments available, carried out by suitably qualified surgeons, with a focus on patient care from start to finish.”Follow TheCork.ie (The Online Newspaper for Cork, Ireland) on social media
