Fastnet has launched the new division to exclusively service the critical role of talentmanagement within multinational and indigenous companies in Ireland.

The War for Talent 2.0, particularly in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) sectors, will be discussed at a CIPD Southern Region breakfast briefing sponsored by Fastnet – The Talent Group on 7 February 2018 at the Clayton Hotel Cork City.

Director of BioPharmachem Ireland, Matt Moran, will lead the discussion on the STEM talent crisis, and how Human Resources needs to address the lack of qualified and experienced STEM candidates. With over 35 years industry experience in life sciences, Moran is ideally positioned to share his insights on the industry, skills pipeline and future for STEM talent throughout Ireland.

“Organisations are again competing fiercely to fill roles in the life science sector; it is a national issue that is likely to continue as the industry outpaces the pipeline and supply of STEM talent in Ireland. HR professionals must address this crisis to attract, develop and retain talent in their organisations. Our speakers, Matt Moran and Siobhán Dean of BioPharmachem Ireland, are ideally placed to explain the current, short and longer-term implications of the skills shortage, and the considerations for HR to face this significant challenge,” said CIPD Ireland Southern Region Chair Dave Barry.

Sponsored by Fastnet – The Talent Group, the breakfast briefing is likely to attract more than 100 attendees to the Clayton Hotel Cork City.

“Faced with an ever-competitive talent pool, progressive companies are investing in end-to-end Talent Management strategies that focus not just on finding, but proactively retaining the right talent for the organisation,” said Niamh O’Driscoll, Managing Partner at Fastnet – The Talent Group. “This event will inform those working in HR and L&D how to react and manage this ongoing challenge the industry is facing here in Ireland.”

“Ireland is a key strategic hub for the global life sciences industry – one of the primary reasons for this is because of our skilled and talented workforce. We all need to work together – industry, educators and government to ensure this vital asset continues to flourish and grow,” said Matt Moran, IBEC Biopharmachem Ireland ahead of the event in Cork.
