Carrigaline is County Cork’s largest town
McDonald’s has today opened its newest restaurant in Carrigaline, Co Cork, following an investment of more than €6.6 million. The new restaurant created 80 jobs in the local community, providing a mix of full-time and part-time crew member positions, alongside opportunities in mid and senior management.
The opening marks a further investment in Cork by McDonald’s franchisee Jim Ronayne, who also operates several McDonald’s restaurants across Cork and Tipperary.

Jim Ronayne said:
“We’re delighted to open our doors in Carrigaline and welcome our first customers. A lot of work has gone into bringing this restaurant to life, and it’s great to see it open and ready to serve the local community. The investment has also created 80 jobs, giving people in the area the opportunity to join our team and build their careers with us. I’ve worked with McDonald’s for more than 20 years, and I’m looking forward to making this restaurant a part of the Carrigaline community.”
Ronayne was joined by local GAA star Brian Hayes and some crew members who cut the ribbon and welcomed the community to the new restaurant.
The new 330-square-metre restaurant features a dual-lane Drive-Thru, 30 car parking spaces, bicycle parking, electric vehicle charging facilities and an outdoor seating area.
The restaurant will trade seven days a week, with a 24-hour Drive-Thru and McDelivery service. Indoor seating is available from 7am to 11pm.
The opening of the Carrigaline restaurant brings the total number of McDonald’s restaurants in the Republic of Ireland to 99. Every McDonald’s restaurant in Ireland is owned and operated by one of 18 local franchisees, who collectively employ more than 7,500 people nationwide.
