Four men are due to appear before a special court sitting later today after they were arrested following a high-speed pursuit across counties Limerick and Cork.
The men were arrested after gardaí from Mallow, Charleville, Limerick city, and Bruff, and pursued a stolen car for more over 40 miles.
The car was stolen in North Co Cork in Charleville yesterday afternoon and it was driven to the outskirts of Limerick city before doubling back to Charleville. The car eventually halted after performing a U turn in Mallow trying to avoid a road block sometime after 6pm last evening.
The four men are aged in their early 20s and are understood to be from Cork city.
They were taken to Mallow Garda Station and will appear to appear before Mallow District Court later today.
