Labour Party Senator, Michael McCarthy, has welcomed the news that the Health Services Executive have purchased the former Teagasc building in Dunmanway for the purposes of housing the local Family Resource Centre.
Senator McCarthy said, ‘The closure of the Teagasc office in Dunmanway was a big loss to the town. I am delighted that this building will continue to be used for the benefit of the local people. I understand that the terms of the purchase were very favourable.

‘Currently, the Family Resource Centre is operating out of rented accommodation in the town. It provides a very important and valuable service to the community in Dunmanway and it deserves its own building. It makes sense for the HSE to purchase a home for the Family Resource Centre rather than to continue renting.
‘This is something I have been working on with the staff of the Family Resource Centre and I am please that it has come to a successful conclusion.’
