Mizen Bridge in line for awards

In West Cork, the new Mizen Head foot-bridge, which was offically opened last month, is in with a chance of winning THREE separate awards.

In Ireland… The “Engineering Project of the Year” and “Public Service Excellence Award”

and in Britain… it’s up against Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in the The “Institute of Structural Engineers: Heritage Re-construction award”

About 50 thousand visitors will cross the 1.8 million euro bridge by the end of the year.

Cork County Engineer Noel O’Keeffe is urging people to vote for the Mizen bridge on EngineersIreland.ie before the deadline
