West Cork roads “falling apart”

Councillors in West Cork insist they are doing all they can to improve the N71.

The national road is the main artery to the City from Bandon, Clonakilty, Rosscarbery, Skibbereen, and Bantry

However, Cork County Council and Town Councils say their “hands are tied” and that the “N-R-A” are responsible for funding National Roads.

Mayor of Clonakilty Cllr John Loughnan told TheCork.ie this month that the Clonakilty by-pass in particular is “dis-integrating”
