This afternoon the Crosshaven RNLI lifeboat attended the scene of a collision between two racing yachts, South of Roches Point.
The initial information was that one of the yachts was taking on water.
Crosshaven lifeboat quickly reached the 32 foot yacht which had been taking part in the Cork Week regatta. No crew on either boat had been injured and the damage to one yacht, while serious extensive, was above the waterline.
The lifeboat escorted the damaged yacht back to Crosshaven.
Crosshaven Coast Guard and Cork Civil Defence Ribs also attended on scene.Follow TheCork.ie (The Online Newspaper for Cork, Ireland) on social media
