Gardaí have arrested an 18-year-old male and recovered a firearm following an overnight incident at a house in Co. Cork.

At approximately 11pm Gardaí from Kinsale were called to an incident at a house near Minane Bridge. On the arrival of gardaí a number of gun shots were fired from the house. No one was injured. Armed gardaí from the Regional Support Unit and Garda Crisis Negotiators attended the scene. A cordon was put in place and a neighbouring house was evacuated as a precaution.
