Here is an example of a headline grabbing political press release we
wish we’d thought of! and a positive piece for a Labour Oireachtas

West Cork Labour T.D. Michael McCarthy has invited ‘Top Gear’ to tour

Deputy McCarthy said, ‘I have written to the BBC programme ‘Top Gear’
inviting them to tour this captivating coastal route as part of their
programme. I have also written to Shaun Quinn, Chief Executive of
Fáilte Ireland seeking his support in bringing this invitation and
suggestion to fruition.

‘Top Gear has become a British television institution. In fact, the
Emmy Award winning car show can be seen in over 200 countries around
the world. It features some of the most beautiful cinematography ever
seen on the small screen and this type of marketing opportunity and
exposure would be immeasurable and invaluable.

‘The Wild Atlantic Way is the world’s longest defined coastal touring
route. From Malin Head in Donegal to the Old Head of Kinsale, the
show will be able to explore and showcase the rugged natural beauty of
the west of Ireland.

‘The 2,500km driving route will offer the show’s presenters the
opportunity to drive routes that ring great peninsulas reaching out
into the ocean and tiny coastal roads that hug the shoreline. They
will also take in tucked away little villages and towns that snuggle
into the coastline along way.’

‘This is very worthwhile endeavour and I hope my invitation will be
positively received.’
