More than 400 people attended an event in the new Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Entitled “Sporting A Better Diet” the event organised by the APC Microbiome Institute, as part of Cork Science Festival.
A number of Ireland’s leading sports stars including World Champion rower Mark O’Donovan, Ireland’s Basketball Ladies captain Gráinne Dwyer, Waterford & UCC Hurler Tom Devine and Shane O’Donnell, Clare hurler shared their insights on the impact of nutrition on sport.
The talks were chaired by Dr. Sharon Madogan of the Sports Ireland Institute, and alco included contributions from Dr Paul Cotter of APC Microbiome, and Retired histopathologist Dr Garry Lee.
