Well known broadcaster and sports pundit George Hook is to address a gathering of the Fine Gael party faithful in West Cork next month. The popular host of Newstalk’s drivetime show has been confirmed this week as the guest speaker for the 31st annual Christmas function of the Tragumna Fine Gael branch. In a break with tradition, the organisers of this years event have invited a speaker from outside the ranks of the Fine Gael parliamentary party to address those in attendance on the night. In anticipation of a larger than usual turnout, the venue for the event to be held on Friday December 3rd will be the West Cork Hotel in Skibbereen. Organisers are confident that the event offers tremendous value for money with tickets for the night which will include a four course meal, priced at only twenty euro. The meal will be followed by entertainment from “The Music Makers”.
Chairman of Tragumna Fine Gael branch Paddy O’ Brien spoke of his delight at the prospect of welcoming the popular TV and Radio personality to West Cork. “We are thrilled that George Hook was in a position to accept our invitation. I have no doubt that he will give a highly moving and entertaining address on the night. George is the ideal man to rally the grassroots ahead of an almost certain election in the near future” stated Mr. O’ Brien. Tickets which are priced at twenty euro are expected to sell out fast.
