The AIB Best New Macra Member is an award presented to a Macra member who has made a significant contribution to the development of their club during their first year of membership.

Maria Foley from Dungarvan Macra in Waterford was selected as the overall winner by the competition judges from the 12 finalists and was presented with a new laptop by John Farrell of AIB at an awards ceremony on Saturday, the 23rd October.

John Farrell Agri Propositions, AIB Bank said, “New members are essential to the development and progression of all Macra na Feirme clubs. Individual members can make a considerable contribution to their club and it is fitting to recognise and reward their efforts. I would like to congratulate the finalists on their achievement.”

Macra na Feirme National President, Michael Gowing, congratulated all 12 finalists. Speaking at the event, he said, “This award recognises our new members, who are invaluable to Macra. The competition proves how new members bring new ideas and new ways of doing things. This keeps our clubs fresh and is the very reason Macra na Feirme continues to grow and flourish across the country.”
