All day and evening classes cancelled at Cork Institute of Technology due to Teachers Union of Ireland strike tomorrow

Cork Institute of Technology has received notice from the Teachers’ Union of Ireland (TUI) that its members will be engaging in official strike as part of a national day of action by the TUI at all Institutes of Technology nationwide tomorrow (3 February 2016, Wednesday)

All day and evening classes will be cancelled and academic staff will be mounting pickets outside the Institute on the day. The Institute will be open as usual for all other activities and services including library, open access, administrative functions, sports, all catering and shop facilities.

This is a national day of action by the TUI and is related to the funding of the Higher Education sector.
