Works to resurface the N40 South Ring Road Cork between Junction 6, Kinsale Rd Interchange and Junction 9, Bloomfield, have commenced this evening.
Works will entail resurfacing the section of the N40 eastbound carriageway between Vernon Mount and the Bloomfield interchange.
4th April to 30th April 2016.
• Traffic will be maintained until 23:59 hrs each night, restrictions will be in place between 21:00 hrs and 23:59 hrs.
• The relevant section of road will close to traffic between 23:59 hrs until 06:00 hrs the following morning and diversions will be in place.
It is planned to have this arrangement in place for the full duration of the project.
Diversion Routes
N40 East bound Traffic to Divert via slip to Douglas west to Roundabout. Travel south through underpass and left via Douglas link rd. to Douglas Relief rd. to the Fingerpost Roundabout, Rochestown Road and back onto the N40 South Ring Road via the N28 Bloomfield Interchange.
From N40 Eastbound to Carrigaline, via slip at Douglas West, Junction 7, to Back Douglas Rd., New Douglas Relief Road to Main Douglas Rd., Fingerpost Roundabout., Carrigaline Rd., (R609) and re-join N28 at Carrs Hill.
Works will be carried out each week from Monday night to Saturday morning between 21:00 hrs and 06:00 hrs.
Motorists are requested to pay particular attention to Temporary Traffic Management which will be erected to ensure the safe passage of traffic through the works area and to Diversion signs which will divert traffic off the route and bring them back onto the route.
Motorists are requested to allow extra time to carry out their journeys and to moderate their speed through the works area.
A Road works speed limit order issued in accordance with Section 10(1) of the Road Traffic Act 2004 will be in place.
