Cork Business Association has welcomed the official launch of the exciting new City centre partnership CORE initiative. One of the key purposes of CORE is to bring together all stakeholders and task them to work collectively on the revitalisation of Cork City centre. The Cork Business Association has been a long time advocate of this collaborative model of strategic City Centre oversight and applauds its formation.

Commenting Cork Business Association CEO Lawrence Owens stated ” The establishment of CORE provides a new framework on how key stakeholders in the City can work together in a collaborative and meaningful way. The importance of having such a structure in place as the City enters a period of significant development and expansion cannot be overstated. A vibrant, attractive and accessible City Centre is a vital component of any City and CORE has the capacity to enable us deliver on these requirements. I am confident that CORE can deliver on its objective of revitalising the City Centre to ensure the retail offer, the standard of public realm and the quality of citizen engagement are of the highest quality.

In conclusion Lawrence Owens commented  ” I think it is important we acknowledge the role of Cork City Council and in particular its CEO Ann Doherty who has played a pivotal role in this process, the Cork Business Association is looking forward to being a partner in this exciting initiative and to playing an active and constructive role in the project”
