This evening one of Cork’s top restaurant’s The Mews, Baltimore will feature in Donal Skehan’s TV show at 8.30pm. Donal has been wooing the country with his delicious recipes in minutes for the last few weeks.
Episode 5 – Quick Shop Meals
We all live busy lives and can’t always do a big weekly shop. In this episode 31 year old Donal is going to show you just how easy it is to make amazing meals after a quick stop in your local shop. Donal wants to show you that with one or two fresh ingredients bought in your local shop and some store cupboard ingredients you already have you can make a meal in minutes. The recipes are tasty and easy to follow, like using some store bought pastry to make a Tomato & Ricotta Puff Pastry Tart, or enhancing some chicken thighs with some store bought corn and making a flattened Spiced Chicken thighs with cream corn. Donal also shows us 2 very quick and easy recipes, one with some pre cooked store bought Duck and a quick recipe using some store bought sausages to create a Pork & Fennel Ragu. Also this week Donal attempts another 5-minute challenge – This time it’s Soup. Also in this show we visit West Cork, Baltimore to chat to Robert & James from The Mews restaurant who are taking a very interesting route with their daily changing menu, its all about the right location, right food producers, foraging and wild ingredients.
