Cork-based Glenmar Shellfish, headquartered in Union Hall, West Cork, has featured in a new national Vodafone Business campaign to mark 25 years of supporting Irish businesses.
Glenmar has been a Vodafone Business customer since 2001.
Titled ‘25 Years of Business. One Connection Behind It.’, the campaign showcases several successful Irish businesses and highlights the role technology and connectivity play in supporting business growth, innovation and competitiveness.
Glenmar Shellfish appears alongside some of Ireland’s most recognisable businesses, including Butlers Chocolates, Sisk, Joe Duffy Group, Ryanair and Weir & Sons. Featured throughout the campaign are senior leaders from each organisation, including Juan Blanes, CEO of Glenmar Shellfish, whose story highlights how ambition, resilience and innovation have helped grow a West Cork business into a successful international exporter.
From a West Cork fishing community to international markets, Glenmar Shellfish has built its reputation over more than 40 years on quality, innovation and strong relationships with suppliers and customers. The campaign places a spotlight on the role of connectivity in helping regional businesses such as Glenmar Shellfish manage operations, serve customers and bring Irish produce to markets at home and abroad.
Based in Union Hall, the company employs 70 people across its operations and manages the landings of seafood from a network of 150 fishing vessels, supplying customers in Ireland and international markets.
Glenmar shellfish’s story has appeared across Vodafone Ireland’s television, digital, social and out-of-home channels, the campaign demonstrates how trusted partnerships and technology-enabled connectivity can help Irish businesses of all sizes unlock new opportunities in an increasingly digital world.
Today, Vodafone Ireland serves 2.4 million customers, supports six in ten Irish businesses, and continues to invest in Ireland’s digital future, including a recent €360 million investment in network and digital infrastructure up to 2030. Earlier this year, Vodafone also made history with Ireland’s first satellite-enabled mobile call.
Juan Blanes, CEO of Glenmar Shellfish, said:
“From our base in Cork, we’ve built a business that brings Irish seafood to customers across Europe and beyond. Connectivity plays an important role in helping us manage operations and continue expanding internationally. We’re proud to be part of Vodafone Business’s campaign celebrating the partnerships behind Ireland’s success.”
Speaking about the campaign, Jo Gilfoy, Director of Vodafone Business, said:
“As Vodafone marks 25 years in Ireland, this campaign is a celebration of the role connectivity and technology has played in powering Irish business and supporting the country’s economic growth over the last quarter century.
