Socialist Party councillor Mick Barry this morning defended the aims and actions of anti-property tax campaigners who forced the cancellation of last night’s meeting of Cork City Council. He said: “The property tax is an unjust tax which will be used to fund the bank bailout and payments to bondholders. The campaigners sent a clear message to Fine Gael and Labour last night that this tax will be resisted and I will back that resistance all the way.”.
