Cork couple collect Lotto Prize

A Cork couple got a lot more than they bargained for when they checked their All or Nothing ticket on Sunday evening. Certain they’d matched 11 numbers and bagged €5,000, the pair celebrated until they decided to re-check the ticket. On further inspection, they realised their windfall increased 100 fold to €500,000 as they had in fact matched all 12 numbers.

“We were delighted with €5,000 and thought of all the great things we could do. Then we got a notion to re-check the ticket to make sure we’d got it right. It was a winning ticket alright but for €500,000 not €5,000,” smiled the happy wife.

The couple, who wish to keep the win private, bought their lucky €6 ticket in McCarthy’s News, Midelton, Co. Cork. The regular players picked their own numbers. They currently have no plans for the win preferring to take some time out before making any big decisions.
