The Midleton Food and Drink Festival has expanded this year to accommodate a huge variety of events and activities planned in the East Cork town. The festival will run for nearly two weeks this year with the main food and drink festival taking place on Saturday, 12 September 2015.
“It was a challenge to accommodate all the incredible food and drink events in one day so this year we made the decision to run the events over a number of days, which allows for greater diversity and community interaction. The Midleton Food and Drink Festival has always been a community event and this extension is a natural progression so we are delighted to announce that it will run from the 4-13 September this year,” said Seamus Cunningham, Director of the Midleton Food and Drink Festival.
Speaking from the launch of the Midleton Food and Drink Festival, Production Director at Irish Distillers, Tommy Keane said: “Midleton is the home of Irish Distillers where we have been producing our world-renowned Irish whiskeys, including Jameson, Paddy and Powers, since 1975. We are delighted to continue supporting this fantastic Festival which rightly puts the spotlight on Midleton’s significant craft and artisan tradition.”
As part of the festival, the main street of Midleton will be transformed on Saturday 12 September and will host to a number of food and drink demonstrations from local and national producers. There will also be a petting farm, street entertainment and music, a children’s craft fair and much more.
“We are delighted to have our key sponsors back on board again for 2015 including Irish Distillers, Midleton Park Hotel, Market Green and Ballymaloe Foods. The festival would also not be possible without the tremendous support of the Midleton and Area Chamber,” added Seamus Cunningham, Director of the Midleton Food and Drink Festival.
