A startup Cork Technology company which tackles online fraud and identity theft
has announced it’s secured “a quarter of a million euro” in Angel funding.

TrustEv uses data from services like Facebook, Twitter and Linked-In
to provide reassurance to online sellers that a person entering a credit card number, is in fact the owner of that card.

At the moment an estimated 1-point-2 per cent of online transactions turn out to be fraudulent,
and the Cork company hopes to tackle this.

TrustEv is based in Blackrock and DC Cahalane, Chief Marketing Officer explained to TheCork.ie what they do

The company has come up with a novel competition to promote both itself and Cork.

It’s offering two people – regardless of their COUNTRY – a paid trip to the Rebel County,

and it’s going to use its software to select the winners by next week!

As it’s Valentines Day Pat Phelan CEO of TrustEv

says their want to spread some “social media romance” and they’re asking people to visit SoMance,ME

Pat Phelan says whether the winners are from Ireland or abroad they will be shown a good time
in Cork
