One of Cork motorists’ favourite refuelling locations, the Topaz motorway site at Cashel, in Co. Tipperary, has won the Best Forecourt Store 2016 at the Retail Excellence Awards. It’s the latest accolade for the multi award winning service station which is located at Junction 8 on the M8 motorway between Dublin and Cork. The main objective of the awards, which are now in their 18th year and which attract over 600 entries, is to drive excellence in Ireland’s retail industry. David Fitzsimons, CEO of Retail Excellence Ireland said all of the finalists, especially the winners, displayed the highest standard of service, customer engagement, display and levels of investment which made choosing this year’s winners particularly difficult.
Topaz Group Corporate Services Director Paul Candon said our future plans include an extension to the existing station building to incorporate 24 hour public toilets and showers, an expansion to the adjoining McDonalds restaurant, a major expansion of parking facilities and a new children’s play area. The Awards were co-presented last weekend by RTE’s Hector Ó hEochagáin and sports presenter Evanne Ni Chuilinn. The sell-out event was attended by more than 500 representatives of the retail industry in Ireland. The Awards are the biggest event in the Irish retail industry calendar.
